ATV Rentals Are A Great Way to Try It Before You Buy It
Greetings All,
In the spirit of "Everything ATV Related", it occurred to me that we needed to have a page about ATV rentals. You can rent an ATV for 1/2 day, all day, the weekend, or even the week.
Most of the places listed below are close enough to a riding area, that you can ride from their lot to the trail. A few others have trailers available that you can use, or rent as well.
Most of these places do require a security deposit, but they include a helmet and goggles as well. You just need to fill the tank up before you return it to the ATV rental yard. And you are good to go.
There are a variety of reasons that you might find yourself needing an ATV rental, and the ones that jump out to me are as follows:
- Its time to buy a new ATV. But it has been a while since you went ATV shopping. There are bunches of new models to chose from, as well as numerous engine sizes to choose from. An ATV rental let's you check it out on the trail before you write that check or start making monthly payments again. Not only do you get an extended test drive, but you get a chance to try all the options out. Is the reverse easy to use? How hard is it to load and unload? Does the powerband work with you, or against you? Does it have enough power? Does it have too much power?
- Try a new type of ATV riding. Your __________ (spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend, brother, buddy) is interested in hitting the __________ (dunes, mud, track, rocks), but doesn't want to run the risk of trashing their own ATV. Getting an ATV rental will let them check out the action, without the risk of damage to their own property.
- You don't own enough quads for everyone that wants to go riding I was in this situation, shortly after my wife and I started dating. My buddies and I had been planning a Glamis run for New Years' weekend, and the girls decided they wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Each of us got an ATV rental for our girlfriend, and a good time was had by all. And renting for a weekend is way cheaper than purchasing an ATV, until you know that they really enjoy it and want to go riding on a regular basis.
- The gang is heading out, but your quad isn't running Now this could due to the fact that you got in an argument with a Joshua Tree on the last ride, and lost...
So your ATV is in pieces in the garage, due to that argument, or the fact that you are in the middle of a ground up rebuild, and engine rebuild, or...? An ATV rental will get you out on the trail for the day or weekend, with your friends, and without costing an arm and a leg.
So here are the ATV rental places that I have found, if you know of one that isn't listed, send me an email and let me know. I will add them ASAP.
